Hunting is fun!! Who would have thought?

So Travis had a cow elk tag that he needed to use before the end of January, and ever since Christmas he was going up the canyon as much as possible "glassing" (hunting term) for elk but could never see any. He also went up every Saturday and hunted for the dumb animals but never saw any.

I was starting to feel bad for him cause he was getting pretty discouraged over this whole hunting thing. Then finally they saw some Elk!!! He was so excited that he wanted me to go with him, so I decided I would be a good wife and support my husbands habits and go with him on one of his hunts.

We went last Saturday up Logan Canyon by the Wind Caves. It was a beautiful day, the sun was out but it was still a little chilly. Travis wanted to make sure I was warm so he had me wear thermals, two pairs of sweat pants, two sweaters, two pairs of socks, snow boots, snow pants, snow coat, and he gave me hand warmers! I was grateful that he wanted me to be so warm, but I know that the only reason why he dressed me that way is because he didn't want to have to deal with my complaining all day! It's OK I still love him lots!

After hiking for about 5 hours up the mountain toward the elk, we were finally in range of them and we could take a shot! Travis and my brother in law Justin were both shooting at the same group of elk but only Travis was able to get one at that time, Justin then ran after them for another few hours and ended up getting his!

I never understood the whole hunting thing and why it was so much fun because while we were making our journey up the mountain I was thinking about 1000 different things that I would rather be doing at that time. It wasn't until I saw my husbands bullet hit that poor animal and then watching it roll down the mountain completely helpless that I really got excited! It was awesome! You all should try it sometime!!

Travis and his Elk!

Travis, Jessica, and poor cow! I do it cause I love him!

Jordan, Travis, Justin, and Justin's elk. Jordan was a big help during the day! What a guy!

Husband Tag!!!

Travis Noorda!!

1. Where did you meet your husband? I met him in my singles ward the exact same ward that I said I would never marry anyone who went to it! But Travis was a implant into the ward not an original so technically he's not from the ward!

2. How long did you date? We met and started dating in Aug 2007 and got engaged in Sept 2008 so about a year and a month! But it's kind of a funny story how we started dating! His friend asked for my number and then asked me to hang out with Travis and him that night so he came and picked me up and I went home with Travis! I know it was kind of mean but it never would have worked with the other kid ;)

3. How long have you been married? Almost 2 months! Ya we're still fresh!

4. What does he do that surprises you? He is so so so dang funny! He was funny when we dated but he was so much more reserved back then, maybe now that we're married he knows he can let loose! But seriously the funniest guy ever! He makes me laugh all the time!

5. What is your favorite feature of his? His smile! And his eyes! His teeth are wonderful and his eyes have a twinkle in them! Seriously I'm not making that up! His eyes get me every time! Oh and I do enjoy a good look at his wrangler butt from time to time!

6. What is his best quality? I would have to say the way he treats people and his family! Travis is seriously the nicest person I've ever met! He thinks of everyone before himself! I'm definitely Satan in the relationship! Travis loves his family with all his heart and treats them all with so much respect, I am so grateful that I am a part of his life because he treats me the exact same way if not better!

7. Does he have a nick name for you? "Babes" or "Jess"

8. What is his favorite food? Well he really will eat ANYTHING, but if I had to choose it would be anything Mexican or my homemade food!

9. What is his favorite sport? Hunting, he's really not into sports but hunting is his life!

10. When and where was your first kiss? It was on Aug. 24Th 2007 we just got done with our date and we started talking on our way back to my house and instead of driving around wasting gas to talk we parked in the church parking lot and he just kissed me! Well he actually asked first and I of course replied calmly "Yes" when actually I was freaking out in my head cause I was so excited!

11. What is your favorite thing to do as a couple? Probably ride horses, even though I suck! But it is actually pretty relaxing and nice to talk and be in the mountains on a horse! Then Make out!

12. Do you have children? NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!

13. Does he have hidden talents? Yes, he has a beautiful voice, and he can harmonize with me! Also he knows fashion and how a girl should dress! He has very good taste in girls clothes!

14. Who said I love you first? He did! Even though I wanted to but never would because I didn't want to be first! It was on May 25Th 2008 up the canyon! It's kind of funny we went for a romantic walk over a bridge and stood in silence watching the water, it was the perfect time to say it, but he decided to wait til on the bumpy ride down the mountain and I was falling all over the truck cause it was such a bad road, but it was absolutely perfect! And I cried cause I had been waiting a long time for it to happen and it finally did!

15. His favorite music? Country, there is no other kind!

16. What do you admire most about him? His testimony in the Gospel! He truly is the best person I have ever met and I am so very lucky to have gotten him! God has blessed me with many good things, but I count Travis as my greatest blessing! He makes me a better person and is the greatest example of a person who puts Christ first, and that's why I fell in love with him!

17. What is his favorite color? Green.....and soft pink! On me of course!

18. Will he read this? Probably not, he doesn't even know our blog address but I will mention it to him so he knows how much I love his sweet face!

Christmas Weekend!!

This Christmas Travis and I had a blast! We spent the night at the Noorda's on Christmas Eve where we played lots of Christmas games and sang songs and just basically had a great time.

Every year Travis's mom gives PJ's to everyone on Christmas Eve and she bought Trav and I matching ones. They are so dang cute, we love them and we wear every night for bed!
We also opened the gifts from the siblings in the family and I have got to hand it to Amy! I love my sweater and jewelry! You did an awesome job! Thanks so much, I wish I had your shopping ability because it truly is a great talent!

On Christmas morning we woke up and opened presents and then had a wonderful breakfast. Then Trav and I
went over to my parents house and opened gifts and then went sledding! It was a great day!

For the next few days after Christmas, Trav and I enjoyed our time together and went on a great horse ride this weekend....Although I did freeze my butt off so I did end up going in the house early! Sorry Trav I still love ya lots!

We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and are looking forward to the new year, I know we are!

Merry Christmas Everyone!!!

Well....I'm pretty much a big loser when it comes to blogging. I suck at this stuff... Seriously I have the hardest time with putting pictures on it and making it look cute. I'm trying, but it's just taking me a while to figure it out. If it weren't for my friend Melissa at work, my blog would still look like it did at first.....UGLY!

But I was looking at my sister in laws blog (which is AMAZING by the way) and I found this picture of me and my cute husband so I decided to use it as well and wish you all a Merry Christmas!

I promise the wedding pics are coming but don't count on it too soon! I'll have to get with my sis and have her help me load the pictures because computers make me handicap!

So marriage is great, not gonna lie;) But when people say it's an adjustment, well trust me and believe them! Travis and I are so happy but it's just taking us a little bit to get use to each other 24/7 Travis is a great husband, he helps clean up and takes me out on dates even though he really doesn't have to, and actually likes my cooking which I was very nervous about! Although I found that Travis will eat ANYTHING so really I don't have much to worry about.

This Christmas will be our first Christmas as a married couple! Last year we had been dating for a about 4 months and were still in the awkward stage so we just gave each other gifts that wouldn't freak the other out and want to break up with each other! But now we're married so it doesn't matter if I freak him out!! ha ha sucker! Just kidding!

This Christmas season has been crazy for us! Travis and I have been to parties and we've hosted a awesome "sweater party" although nobody came with a Christmas sweater except my mom and my nephew! They were great sports!

love Christmas time and all the parties! And I absolutely love dressing up for each and every one! I just wish I could get my husband to dress up with me, but that is impossible! Maybe next year.

Well that's really all I have to say, but Travis and I both wish you all Happy Holidays and not to forget what Christmas is really about! We love you all and are excited to start traditions with family and friends together! Merry Christmas!

Love, The Noorda's

P.S. Thanks Linds for taking pictures at my party and then letting me steal them for my blog! Love ya lots!

November 15th 2008! Best Day Of Our Lives!

Well, it's official! I am no longer "Almost Noorda",

I AM NOORDA!

Travis and I were married November 15th 2008 in the Logan LDS Temple! I always wanted my wedding day to be the best day of my life and because I married Travis my dream came true! I haven't got back all of my pictures yet but I do have a few from other cameras, so here are some pictures of our beautiful day! And when I get more from my photographer I will share!

Travis insisted on wearing a cowboy hat with his tux and so I insisted on him wearing a pink flower! We each got our wish, we sure know how to compromise!

Us and our parents! Clyde and Margaret Noorda, and Jay and Debbie Sleight. I love my family and I couldn't have done it without them!

We love to kiss in our family so I am glad that Travis's family also agrees! Yum, Yum Good!

Travis surprised me by having a horse drawn carriage pick us up from the Temple and take us to our wedding luncheon! He was such a gentleman! Bet you all wish he was yours! HA HA Suckers!

Like I said...We love to kiss! I don't know how I could ever stop kissing this good lookin cowboy!
