My First Craft!

Last night I became domestic. I did my first craft ever! I know that sounds odd, but I have NEVER been into the "crafty" things until last week. My mom showed me these cute pumpkins and I just thought..."What the heck, I'll give it a shot."

I am quite pleased at the way it turned out and and quite impressed with my skills:) I know Melissa is proud, and you should all be too because seriously, I DO NOT DO CRAFTS!

New Home

So Travis and I are starting to really enjoy our new life in the Great State of Idaho! We moved to Pocatello about a week ago for Travis's job and are discovering that it isn't as bad as we thought it would be. I'll let you know all the details later when I have a little bit more time to blog. But for right now, just know that we are happy and really enjoying our time together!

It's official!!! I am back to picking POTATOES. Yep I'm moving to the land where I was born.

Next Top Model

This weekend I took pictures of my sister and her family. I had such a fun time taking their pictures especially my niece Catherine. She is 6 years old and such a Diva. She is definitely on her way to being America's Next Top Model!

I'm here

It has been such a long time since I posted last. I'm still alive and going strong. I just haven't had the time to sit down and blog about anything. Also this post will not have any pictures because I have forgotten my camera every time something has happened.

Travis and I have had a few exciting things happen to us over the past few weeks. First we went on a pack trip with Travis's family up to the Tetons. It was really pretty up there. I froze the first few nights but after we fixed the problem I slept very well. We went fishing, took some day rides, lounged around camp, shot guns, and took naps. It was really nice. I felt so dirty the last couple days that I jumped in the river and took a quick bath. It was super cold! Travis just laughed at me while throwing me the soap. I'm sure it was a pretty funny sight. It felt wonderful though.

My horse Jake has been freaking me out ever since he decided to throw me off into a barbed wire fence. I was really nervous to ride him on the trip so I had Travis ride him whenever he decided to act like a idiot. Travis showed him who was boss and then I got back on and it was much better. Jake did a lot better towards the end of the trip. I think it was because he knew we were going home!

It was nice to get away from the world and enjoy the mountains. I'm still a "sit by the pool" kind of girl but the mountains are growing on me.

The second exciting thing that has happened to us is last weekend we went down to Salt Lake Community College for Travis to take his electrical exam. I was scared out of my mind while waiting to hear the news but I am happy to say that Travis PASSED his tests for his journeyman electrical! He is officially a JOURNEYMAN ELECTRICIAN! Four years of school and a lot of work has finally paid off.

I am so proud of Travis. He worked so hard in school, and he studied so many long hours for this test. We are so grateful and feel very blessed. Travis is amazing and I am so so so so happy for him.

Well that is what happened over the past few weeks. Hopefully something exciting will happen again soon and I will have my camera! Love you all.

Last night I was talking to my husband about how different we were from each other. We have completely different interests. I honestly don't know how we ended up getting married!

The statement "Opposites Attract" couldn't be more true in our case. We like a lot of different things but we make it work! I sure do love My Cowboy and wouldn't want him to change a thing. I guess that's why God makes everyone different. Life sure would be boring if He didn't.

I'm really getting into photography lately and my husband is being the best support when I want to practice:) I made him do this pose. Isn't he such a stud?!?

I need heat!

I cannot handle this weather. I am counting the days until 90 degree weather or higher finally arrives in this horrid valley we live in. I long for days by the pool, soaking in the heat, getting a great tan while drinking my ice water! (It should be diet coke but I'm trying to be healthy).

Why is mother nature such a bad word? I want hot hot hot weather please!!

Exciting News!!!!!!

So Travis and I have been waiting for the right time to tell everyone our news and have decided that today is the day!

Not much going on...

So it's been a while since I posted last and I decided today that I wanted to update my blog. The only problem is nothing is really going on in my life worth blogging about, so I decided that I will just give you all a update with how our life is going.

Travis....

Travis is working as a apprentice electrician. He is finishing up his school in a couple of months so he will soon be a Journeyman Electrician. He is really getting into lion hunting lately and I almost think he enjoys that more than horses! He got a hunting dog named Mia and she is really doing well at finding the lions. Travis is enjoying his life and playing a lot, but still finds the time to take is lovely wife to dinner every now and then:)

Jessica....

Jessica is working at the bank full time while Travis finishes school. Basically her life is pretty boring. She wakes up, showers, hair, makeup, drives 5 miles to work, does transactions all day, drive 5 miles home, dinner, T.V., bedtime!

See I told you my life was pretty boring:) Actually to mix my life a little bit more, I've been taking photography classes and am really enjoying them. I've been taking pictures of my family and friends for a few months now. I need a lot more practice so I'll post some pics when I feel they are worth looking at!

Together...

Travis and I are loving T.V. right now while we wait for summer to start. I know that sounds awful but we find it so relaxing after a long day to lay on the bed together and watch the tube! Mostly it's America's Next Top Model or Animal Planet. Can you tell which one Travis likes??!!

On weekends if it's warm we like to go ride horses or when it is a cold day we like to go to Riverdale in Preston and soak in the hot springs. We cannot wait for summer. Travis can't wait for Pack Trips, Roping at the arena, and camping. I can't wait for days by the pool, tanning all day, Bear Lake, 90 degree weather, basically anything hot and outside. If I had it my way we would be living in California but cowboys don't work so well in the area so looks like we'll be here for a while!

Happy Valentines Day!

I hope you all got lots of Love on V DAY!! Travis and I had so much fun this year, we went up to Hardware Ranch and took a ride on the sleigh and then went to dinner at the Olive Garden. It was so fun.

I made Travis a cake and a video of our lives together so far and he bought me a diamond necklace!!!! I feel bad I didn't get him anything bigger but he loved the video so it all worked out!

More Hunting.

I hope you're not getting bored of all of my hunting posts, but this is my way of being a supportive wife to my husbands habits.

Travis and Justin treed another mountain lion up Blacksmith Fork Canyon. This one was a little bigger and they got better pictures of it so enjoy!!!

So there you have it. I told Travis that I would go with him next time, but I'm a little nervous that the mountain lion will kill me! I guess you'll have to wait and see!

Hunting!

My husband is really getting into lion hunting lately. He's traveled to Vernal and Spanish Fork with his dogs to try and tree a lion but hasn't had any luck. I don't know if it's the weather, or that he just is in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Well this weekend was a weekend to remember for my sweetie, he finally found a lion! And just 30 feet away from the road up the canyon. Travis is so happy that all his hard work and time has finally paid off.

It's kind of hard to see, but here is the mountain lion they treed.
